How to make a Half-Moon Zip Pouch Shell Shape Semi-Circle - Very Easy Beginner. Free Sewing Tutorial.

 Supplies:

• 2 pieces of 22 x 26 cm fabric (one for the lining and one for the exterior)
• 1 piece of 22 x 26 cm interfacing
• 1 35 cm zipper
• 2 pieces of 35 cm bias binding
• Matching thread

Step 1: Glue the interfacing to the exterior fabric of the pencil case

Place the shiny side of the interfacing on the underside of the exterior fabric and iron for about 8 seconds without steam.

Step 2: Cut the pieces according to the pattern

• Place or draw the pattern on the resulting exterior fabric/interfacing and cut it out.
• Repeat with the piece of fabric intended for the lining.

Step 3: Attach the bias binding

• Place the lining fabric on the exterior fabric, right side to right side and edge to edge.
• Place the right side of the bias tape on the right side of the outer fabric, along the two curved edges, edge to edge, having previously unfolded the fold of the bias tape.

• Secure the three layers (lining, outer fabric, and bias) with pins.
• Sew along the fold mark.
• This is what you get.

Step 4: Sew the Zipper

• Place the wrong side of the zipper on the right side of the lining along the curve.
• Insert the zipper under the bias tape (the fold of the bias tape is folded back).
• Secure with pins. Sew and repeat for the other side of the zipper.

Step 5: Sewing the Sides

• Turn the pencil case inside out, flatten the sides as shown in the image below, and sew them.
• Trim the excess fabric and zipper.
• Turn the pencil case inside out, and you're done!
