I created this bag which keeps food/drinks hot or cold for at least 1 hour - its also a lot more stylish and easier to carry along than those big plastic cooler bags you get in the supermarket for your frozen foods. The elastic band keeps the bag securely shut and your content nice and cool or warm. Perfect!
So, here is the pouch. My friends present is still in the shop :D

One of the most satisfying and useful things to be able to make yourself is a bra. This is especially true if you take a larger or ‘awkward’ size, and have trouble finding attractive and well-fitting bras in the shops. This week, I’ll be showing you how to sew a bra from scratch at home. Today, I’ll be showing you one way to draft your own custom-fit bra pattern.
Today we’ll learn how to sew piping by practicing on a very basic pincushion.
If you’ve just landed here and missed the previous post on how to sew continuous bias for piping, you’ll need to read that first. (Unless you already know all about how to sew bias binding).
You can do so much with piping! And when you do, you’ll feel like a fabulous sewing brainiac. (or at least something like that!)
But before we jump ahead to the piping, let’s learn how to sew bias binding. Calling it “binding” isn’t completely accurate…it’s more like continuous bias strips for piping. But since it’s “sorta, kinda” like binding…well… …you know what I mean.

I really love clutches, I mean, who doesn't? So when I was in New York for a Heather Ross sewing workshop, I stumbled upon the most beautiful waxed linen fabric that just called out to be made into a clutch. I had seen this amazing vintage striped trim at the store and knew I should buy it, but in typical fashion I decided to "think about it" which loosely translates into regret it later for not buying the whole roll.
I had some suede pieces from an old vest I bought at the thrift shop and a gold zipper and decided it would be fun to make a small zippered clutch to give as a Christmas present. Or maybe I will just keep it for myself! However, this project is so easy I’ll probably make a few more to give as gifts. I like the mixture of the suede with the glitter.
