DIY Wallet/Credit Card Holder

 Follow this tutorial to make a 100% personalized card holder.
Discover how to make this trendy card holder yourself, which will become an essential accessory for your handbag!

This card holder can be made from faux leather or thick canvas for the exterior and cotton fabric for the lining!

Materials:

30 cm of faux leather or canvas for the exterior,
30 cm of cotton for the lining,
30 cm of iron-on adhesive or Decovil, depending on the thickness of the exterior fabric,
A 15 cm non-separable zipper,
A magnetic clasp.

Follow the card holder tutorial in 5 steps:

Step 1: Prepare the fabric pieces

Download and print the card holder pattern
(100% printable pattern)

Cut out the different fabric pieces according to the pattern.
1cm seam allowances are included in the pattern, so cut along the lines.
Use a thick fabric like canvas or faux leather for the exterior, and choose a thinner cotton lining.
Iron-on the lining. Add two layers of iron-on adhesive around the clasps to hold them securely in place.

Step 2: Attach the magnetic clasp 

Following the pattern markings, place the male magnetic clasp on the lining and the female clasp on the outside of the card holder. 

 Step 3: Sew the card compartments

On the lining, following the pattern markings, sew the first card compartment (sewing the bottom and sides of the compartments). Place the second compartment on top of the first, and so on until the last one. Sew a vertical seam down the center of the compartments to finally form 8. 

Step 4: Sew the coin compartment

Join the top and bottom of the coin compartment with the zipper. Following the pattern markings, sew the top of the coin compartment right sides together. Turn inside out and sew a ribbed seam 0.5 cm from the edge all the way around. 

Step 5: Sew the exterior and lining

Sew the outer side and the lining right sides together, leaving an opening to turn your work right side out. 

Note: If you're using faux leather for the outer, avoid holding it in place with pins, which will mark the fabric. It's best to work with fabric clips to avoid damaging the faux leather.

Notch the corners, turn right side out (if you have chosen a canvas fabric, you can iron your card holder to flatten it) and make a ribbed seam all around the card holder.

Your card holder is finished!
