How To Make A Pleated Zipper Pouch. Zippered Pouch Sewing Tutorial.

For the bag I used:

Fabric:
2 pieces measuring 12x30cm
2 pieces measuring 12x22cm

Fusible interfacing
Battery fleece
Thread
Zipper

(Sewing machine, rulers, marking tape, scissors)

°To keep the outer fabric nice and thin and flexible, and to ensure it forms the desired pleats, fusible interfacing and fusible interfacing are ironed onto the lining.

°Then the lining is sewn to the zipper.

Okay.

Then comes the actual fabric, which needs to be cut again, this time into a trapezoidal shape.

The lining fabric measures 12 x 22 cm. One side of the outer fabric also needs to be 22 cm long. So, a corner is cut off both short sides, so that one long side is 30 cm long, and the other side is 22 cm long.

Sew a single long stitch (4) along the 30cm side. Use the smallest possible seam allowance.

Then, pull the fabric over the seam threads on both sides until the top edge is the same length as the bottom edge, i.e., 22cm.

Then, sew the fabric to the zipper, seam to seam.

Sew the bag together inside out, turn it right side out, close it, and you're done!
