How to Make a Flower Gift Bag | Drawstring Bag Tutorial. Just pull the two drawstrings at either end to create a cute, compact bag!
To make a drawstring bag, you will need:
- Two pieces of cotton fabric with different patterns and colors
- Thin nylon cord
- Round wooden buttons
- Needle and thread
- Scissors, iron
- Sewing machine
How to make a drawstring bag:
Step one(1):
- Cut 2 pieces of cotton fabric: 2 squares with sides of 30cm. Place the right sides of the two pieces of fabric together, aligning the edges.
Step two(2):
- Sew a seam around the edge of the fabric, 1cm from the edge. Remember to leave a 4cm gap to turn the right side out.
- Cut off the 4 corners to make the right side out neat, then turn the right side of the fabric out.
Step three(3):
- Iron flat, sew the gap closed with a hidden stitch.
Step four (4):
- Fold the four right-angled corners (four right-angled triangles) inwards, with each side of the right-angled triangle measuring 12cm, and use pins to hold the folds in place.
Step five(5):
- Draw a straight line 1cm away from the fold to sew.
Step six(6):
- Sew a straight line along the drawn line. Similarly, sew 3 straight lines along the remaining 3 drawn lines.
Step seven(7):
- After sewing, thread the two strings in opposite directions, and use two wooden buttons to secure the two ends of the strings.
The adorable drawstring bag is finished!
Open the bag, put your items inside, and pull the drawstring; you can carry it comfortably without fear of anything falling out!
