Magic Pouch Tutorial

Magic Pouch Tutorial

You know those little pouches with no visible seams? I always wondered how to sew them, and then I finally figured it out ; ) So you can sew these pouches, also known as magic pouches, too, I took some photos while sewing. So, are you ready?? Let's get started!!

First, you need to decide how big you want your pouch to be. I made several different patterns. You really only need this one pattern piece!

Then you choose some pretty fabrics and cut one out for the outer fabric and one for the lining. For me, Rosalie is the outer fabric and the hearts are the lining.

Place both pieces right sides together and stitch along the underside. Leave a small opening of about 6-8 cm for turning.

Now unfold everything, with the outer fabric on top.

Now grab the seam with the turning opening and pull it upwards until just before the curve.

Now place the second side (the lining) on top as well.

Now secure everything with pins and topstitch the sides and top. It's best to trim the corners a little at this point; this will make it easier to push out the edges later!

If you now remove the bottom pins, you can reach through to the turning opening and turn the bag right side out.

Push out all the corners and edges well and close the turning opening.

I simply topstitched close to the edge, but you can also close it with an invisible stitch (mattress stitch)!

Now all that's missing is a suitable snap fastener; I used my favorite ones again, the KAM snaps ; )

The result is a small pouch where you can't see a single seam from the outside ; ))
