Making a Pencil Case / Zipper Pencil Case / Popcorn Pouch. Free Sewing Tutorial.
Materials: 1 piece of outer fabric 25cm x 23cm, 1 piece of lining 25cm x 23cm, 1 piece of bias tape 5cm x 23cm, 1 piece of loop fabric 4cm x 8cm, 20cm zipper
1. Mark the center of the outer fabric, lining, and zipper respectively.
2. Zip up the outside of the lining and sew at 0.3cm intervals.
(Please use a zipper foot when sewing zippers.)
Place the outer fabric on top and sew it once more at 1cm intervals.
3. Flip the outer fabric and lining to the right and sew from the right side of the outer fabric at 0.2cm intervals.
4. Shape the zipper so it is in the center, and mark a position 2cm from both sides.
5. Fold and iron the marked positions, then sew each at 0.2cm intervals.
6. Sew the top and bottom sides at a 0.5cm interval.
7. Divide the loop fabric into four equal parts, fold them inward, and sew at 0.2cm intervals.
8. Sew the loop fabric to the back of the top surface at 0.5cm intervals to secure it.
9. Divide the bias tape into four equal parts, fold it inwards, and then cut it in half.
10. Wrap the bias tape around the top and bottom edges and sew.
Fold in both ends of the bias tape and sew at 1cm intervals. Turn it inside out, wrap it, and sew once more at 0.2cm intervals.
Place the loop on top and sew.
11. A zipper pencil case resembling a popcorn pouch is complete.
