Sew-on-the-Go Needle Book - Free Sewing Tutorial.
Materials:
4” x 6” teal check
4” x 6” dark teal dots
1/2" button
3-3/4” satin cord (aka rat tail)
6” square quilt batting
Cutting:
From each of the teal check and dark teal dots:
(1) 3” x 5” strip piece
From quilt batting:
(2) 2-1/4” x 4-1/4” pieces
Making the Needle Book
1. Loop 3-3/4” satin cord and center on one short side of dark teal piece, with raw edges matching. Baste in place.
2.With teal check and dark teal dots pieces right sides together, stitch pieces together 1/4” around the edges, rounding the corners. Leave a 2” opening along a long side for turning.
3. Trim corner seam allowances to 1/8” - 1/4". Turn right sides out. Hand stitch opening closed.
4. Center 2 pieces of batting on teal check side of needle book cover. Pin to secure layers. Sew across the center of the book securing all layers; backstitching at beginning and end of stitching. Trim if needed.
5. Sew a button on the front of the needle book. Fold in half and close by inserting button into loop.
2-1/2” x 2-1/2” x 3/4” thick
