DIY SIMPLE CARD HOLDER | Here's how to make a unique card wallet with a folded shape like an envelope.
It opens wide, making it easy to insert and remove.
Its flat shape, resembling both a sticker and a paper bag, is appealing.
The materials and method are simple, and it's a great way to use up scrap fabric.
Materials Used
Outer fabric, lining (20 count plain-weave cotton)
Silk interlining
Total 21cm x 21cm
T button
Attach the lining to the back of the outer fabric.
Draw a diagonal line on the back.
3cm from the bottom
Mark a point 1cm above the top.
At the 3cm mark, draw a line perpendicular to this line.
Draw a curved line that passes through the 1cm point.
Cut along the drawn lines.
Place the outer and inner linings together.
Sew along the edges, leaving a hole on one side.
Cut out the remaining portion according to the outer shape, and trim the corner seam allowances short.
Also trim the curved seam allowances short.
Fold the seam allowance over the window opening, iron it, and flip it over so that the outer surface is visible.
Iron the edges carefully, making sure they are shaped correctly.
Cover the window holes with a 5mm or less lining along the edges.
Attach the T-button to the location shown in the photo below.

Fold in half so that the linings meet.
Sew between the two points marked above. Sew along the marked line.
If it looks like this, you've done well.
Align the stitched part so it's centered and secure the sides with pins or clips.

Sew and secure as shown in the photo below.
Fold both side seams toward the center.
Make sure the base vertices are at right angles.
Fold both sides the same way and temporarily secure them.
Sew these folded sections close to the edges.
When unfolded, it looks like this.
Fold the top part
Mark the location of the button below.
Attach the remaining button.
It's complete.
