You will need:
• Cardboard, pen, scissors & ruler
• Light green, brown & dark green felt
• Light green brown & green thread
• Some stuffing
• General sewing equipment
Step 1. Create templates using the measurements set out in the “Apple Template” diagram, and
cut some felt to the exact size. For the stem, just cut brown felt into 1.5cm x 2.5cm.
You will need 6 apple templates and 1 template each of the leaf and the stem. Mark the top side of the light green felt as shown in the picture.
Step 2. Sew all the 6 pieces together using light green double thread.
Step 3. Leave some room (5 - 6cm) to enable you to turn it inside out.
Step 4. Put some stuffing in firmly and close the opening. Remember which is the top and which is
the bottom.
Step 5. If there is a hole on the top or bottom, stitch around the hole to close it, then make a large knot (go around the needle 5 - 6 times)
Step 6. Pass the needle through the middle to the other side. Squeeze the top and bottom then pull the thread. Make a large knot. If the knot is likely to go through the felt, pass the needle through the middle a couple of times then make a knot again for the extra strength.
Step 7. Roll the brown felt and sew the edge to make a 2.5cm long stem.
Step 8. Decorate the leaf using green double thread.
Step 9. Put the stem on the leaf then attach the bottom part of the leaf to the stem. Attach it in the centre of apple.
Your very own “Felt Cuisine Apple” is complete!
