How to Make a Bias Binding Bag

Making bias bags was a huge trend, and I decided to try my hand at making a small handbag.

If you're hesitant to use brightly colored and patterned fabrics as your main item, try using them as accents like bias tape or pockets.

This is a small size perfect for light outings.

Simply draw the pattern as shown below.

Sew the bias tape to the top edge of the fabric cut according to the pattern.

Attach the decorative label to the desired location. I attached it to the top of Pattern 2.

Mark the center point on the side seam of Pattern 2.

Pattern 2: Mark the center point on each of the two bottom edges.

Align the dots marked on Patterns 1 and 2.

Make sure the backs of the fabrics are touching each other.

Secure it well with a pin

Now, align the side seams and secure them in place.

You should end up with a trapezoidal shape, as shown in the photo below.

Sew along the edges, leaving a seam allowance of less than 0.7cm. Sew the corners in a rounded shape.

Now, secure and sew the other side using the same method.

Neatly trim the uneven edges.

Please also round the bottom corners to match the stitching lines.

It's easier to fold the bias tape into quarters beforehand and iron it. (Folding the front door)

Sew along the edges of the bag along the bias line.

Once you've finished sewing to the top edge of the bag, backstitch and stop sewing.

Mark 38cm from where you stopped sewing. This will be the handle.

Now, align the marked points on the opposite side and begin sewing again.

Once you've finished sewing one full circle, fold the bias tape over, wrap the corners, and sew to secure.

You can also fold the handle along the ironing line and sew it in place.

Many people find bias stitching difficult, but once you master it, it's not that hard. In fact, it's an easy item to make, as you don't need a lining or interlining, so give it a try!
