Beautiful Bag Tutorial

I like airy and spacious summer bags. Photo Tutorial.

Beautiful Bag Tutorial DIY

DIMENSIONS:
The bag is about 45 cm wide at the bottom and from the bottom to the top of the shoulder strap 65 cm hoog.Ter height of paspelband she is such a 30cm wide. The bag closes by means a zipper (slightly harder to make) or by means a knot with loop or popper (easier).

- Lining and upper, 120cm x 70cm (top along inside and outside the same substance)

CUT FABRIC:
Do not use fabric to heavy (you'll have to choke by 7 or 8 layers at one time). For the lining in any case be a solid substance (densely woven).

- Pattern: 4 times a top
- Pattern: two times a base outside (here a floral motif)
- 11cm x 47cm 2 times a shoulder strap
- 3cm x 30cm 2 times for paspelband (no need to cut it in the biais direction)

Beautiful Bag Tutorial DIY
MANUAL, shared a bag with a zipper or button:
The photos were taken during the making of 3 different bags. So do not pay attention to the color of the substance or the PCB.

Begin with two times to cut the face sheet.

Cut 4 times the upper part of the lining.
Cut 2 times the bottom part in the liner fabric.
What you are left out of the top, you can use an inside pocket.

Make indentations in the round corners. Stitching on the help lines of the triangle. Do this on the back side of the fabric. Do this for the two bottom parts of the exterior and the same for the lining.
Put the "tunnel" that so arise is flat and stitch another round.

On the good side of the fabric you see this

Make pleats in the lower part of the face sheet, until it is as wide as the upper part.
Make sure the folds stuck (zigzag, topstitching, ...).

Create a paspelband. Use a small zipper stitching foot. This allows you to just choke in addition to the string.
The paspelband do first thing for too long. You cut them even with when you attach the piping.

It is NOT necessary to cut the fabric for the paspelband for this bag in biais direction (oblique to the straight line of the fabric).

Put the paspelbandjes yet aside.

Loosen the shoulder straps. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise and press. Place the fabric again and fold up the length to the top and bottom toward the center (to the crease you just ironed in the middle). Ironing again. Fold everything back to, according to the center line and topstitching shoulder strap a few times.

Clean the tops. Ironing the Vlieseline on one of both sides (on the back of the fabric). Let down 1 cm free.
Lay the two pieces right sides together and stitch the diagonal surfaces and the rounded side 1 cm. The bottom and the place where the shoulder straps must be confirmed late Still ondoorstikt. Cut small triangles along the rounded side and once inside the whole. Then iron block.

!!! Attention: If you make a knooplus a bag with a knot, confirm this step even though the knooplus in one of the above documents.

Where the shoulder straps should be, you will not suffocate through. Once you've turned inside the upper part (and therefore the right side of the fabric is now visible from the outside), you fold the top edges inwards

Put the shoulder straps into the holes and stitched all around 0.5 cm.
Both tops are now ready.

Now it is becoming more complicated;-).
Confirm your paspelband top of the pleats of the fabric of the base.
Make sure that you paspelband left and right about 1.5cm is narrower than the width of fabric. This is not so much for the view, but because you like the piping soon will not have to bring instikken in the corners, so that will be better.
Photo: A = ong.1cm, B = approx. 0,5cm
Photo below: at the beginning and end of the paspelband, you fold the fabric inside.

For a bag with a zip:
The upper part (already done), is down about 30cm wide. Shorten zipper until they left and right 1.5cm narrower, so approx. 7 cm.

The zipper is left and right, 1.5 cm shorter than the upper part.

Use a fairly wide zipper, about 3.5cm. If your zipper is less wide, first follow the intermediate step (between the red dotted lines below).

A narrower zipper on both sides of the zipper teeth less than 1cm wide. You must therefore confirm that the higher the zipper, to later be able to tap 1cm from the edge. Otherwise you will soon suffocate the zipper teeth. Attach a narrow zipper so first bit higher on the upper part by means an auxiliary stitching line on the very edge of the zipper.
Do not worry if this seems Chinese. It later becomes clear.

This is where it finally goes with this manual. stacking all layers and then tap.

Please always check that your stitching all along the right side of the fabric. I mentioned not always express how you should lay your fabric parts but once you're doing, that's for sure.

1 = the bottom part of the outer fabric with the already confirmed on paspelband
2 = the upper part
3 = zip
4 = the lower part of the lining fabric

Bon, now only just put together all layers. You could do at one time (pins) and topstitching but it's easier if you build up layer by layer, and that already confirmed in each case.
I said that maybe it's not really a beginner's model?
Attach the top to the base. you had already confirmed the paspelband on this base. You do not see in the picture, which is located behind the upper part. Pin or zigzag on the edge.

Now turn everything around and stitch with a narrow zipper foot flat stitching along the paspelband (which is located on the right side of the fabric, so here also is not visible).

Piping, top and outside bottom piece are now attached to each other. If you dissect does that look like the picture

Confirm now, again with a zigzag stitch on the edge, the zipper on the top part (the top portion, therefore even if it is mounted on the lower part of the outside of the bag in-between with the paspelband).
On the photo it looks like the zipper was first mounted at the base of the lining fabric. That could equally well.
Then put all the layers together and stitch everything up first time.

For a bag with a (print) button:
Go through all the steps of the zipper, leaving the zipper simply omitted.
If you make a bag with a knot a knooplus (see give-away), you've already confirmed that loop when you made the above documents.

The zipper is now a fact :-)! Do with the other hand exactly the same.

And if anything is stuck on the other side, it looks like the picture. The zipper is fully confirmed but the bag bottom pieces are all around not sewn yet.

Put the right side (front) of the outer fabric together and it follows automatically that the right side of the lining fabric is another.
Stik full wraparound but leaves it to the lining underneath some 10 cm open for turning the bag. Open the zipper on your wraparound starts choking !!!

Cut small triangles with rounded corners, cut a triangle out at the point where the upper and lower section meets.

Turn inside out. Stik close the opening at the bottom of the lining fabric. If you have a version with a button, confirm your button.
And then ironing iron-ironing your bag. Frommel a kitchen towel into a ball. Plug this into the rounded corners and ironing them as completely open and smooth. They come to be perfect "round".

READY!!!!

There are two top pieces: a bag with a zipper and a bag with a (print) button. The base is the same for both models.
