You will need two different fabrics (though you can use the same one for both, if you prefer), some thick batting (fleece or felted padding), two wooden dowels, and some Velcro.

Cut two rectangles measuring 38x98 cm, along with one identical piece of batting; leave a 1 cm seam allowance and mark your lines. On the shorter sides, draw a semicircle using these measurements:

Sew the two rectangles together, right sides facing, while leaving a 30 cm opening in the middle of both sides; these openings will later be used to insert the two side rectangles.

Turn right side out and press. Now, for the side panels: cut 4 rectangles of fabric measuring 33x28 cm, and 2 rectangles of thick cotton batting (mollettone).

If you are using two different fabrics—one for the inside and one for the outside—attach two 22 cm strips of Velcro, placing two on one fabric and two on the other.

When it is closed, the parts will overlap, so you need to be careful to follow the measurements.

I sewed them on with the heavy-duty fastener (hook-and-loop tape) underneath, which helps keep them more secure; I started from the top edge, leaving a 5 cm gap from the side markings.

Always sew the two side pieces with their right sides facing each other, leaving one side open—specifically the 28 cm side opposite the velcro stitching.

Turn right side out, press, and topstitch all the way around the edge.

Now, insert the two side pieces into the openings left earlier, baste them in place, and stitch along the entire perimeter of the long rectangle, catching the two side pieces within the topstitching.

Now let's move on to the handles. Fold inward by about 3.5 cm and sew.

Now insert a 38 cm rod into each of the two handles.

These dimensions allow you to fit in a round or rectangular cake pan, as well as rectangular trays or baking sheets—perfect for making a great impression when bringing something along to a friend's place.

Finally, if you wish, you can add a decoration; I made an appliqué and attached it with a zigzag stitch.
