Easy Lace Zip Purse Tutorial. Zipper Pouch Tutorial: How to Sew a Simple Pouch.

You will need:
ƒ 2 pieces of lining (22 cm x 12 cm),
ƒ same for outer fabric if you use one type of fabric,,
ƒ or like here, 2 pieces of printed fabric (7 cm x 22 cm) and 2 pieces of linen (6 cm x 22 cm),
ƒ 1 lace zipper (20 cm long),
ƒ a sewing machine zipper foot,
ƒ assorted thread.

Sewing outer fabrics:
Put the 2 fabrics right sides facing each other, pin and sew (0,5 cm seam allowance).
Press seam and topstitch (or not, as you like). Do the same way for the other side of the pouch.

Sewing outer pieces and lining:
This step is important, sewing these 2 pieces together helps to sew the lace zipper on the outer of the pouch.
Put the outer piece and the lining right side facing each other, pin and sew (0,5 cm seam allowance). Do the same thing with the other piece of the pouch.

Press strongly the seam, to obtain this:

Sewing the lace zipper:
Pin, or baste, the lace zipper on the right side of the outer piece. Be careful to not overstep on the central part of the zipper. Outside sides of this central part are a good mark to align your work.

With the zipper foot, sew close to the central part (but not to close ^^):
You see on the picture what you’ll get on the wrong side.

Do the same with the other side, pin or baste the zipper:

Change the side of the zipper foot and sew:

Sewing the pouch:
Open the zipper (important step, or you couldn’t open the pouch after sewing!)

Put the outer fabrics right side facing, lining right side facing as on the picture below.
Pin and leave an opening on the bottom of the lining (approx. 10 cm).

Here is how to put the zipper well, puller side and stop side:

Once the sewing is done, cut excess fabrics, cut the corners, turn right side out the pouch, work the corners (with a knitting needle or pointed stuff, but not to pointed ^^) and close the lining opening (0,5 cm seam allowance).
