Mini Zipper Pouch House. Free Sewing Tutorial and Pattern.
Make a pattern as shown in the desired size. My little house is 14 cm wide at the bottom including the seam allowance and 19 cm high up to the top of the roof. First cut 1x fabric for the whole front part and a triangular piece for the roof.
Iron both parts with volume fleece (here H630) and sew the piece for the roof to the edge of the roof, right sides facing.
Fold the top up and topstitch. Or, as here, place several topstitching seams. The double volume fleece on the roof gives it a little more structure.
Decorate the front section as desired with fabric, felt and woven ribbon remnants.
Don't forget the chimney. This will later act as a hitching loop.
Cut the fabric for the back and 2 lining pieces. You will also need a zipper. Also reinforce the back with volume fleece.
Sew the zipper to the right roof slope. Proceed as for a normal bag.
Iron the fabric flat at the zipper. It will look like this:
Open the zipper a little so that the zipper is in the middle of the sloping roof. Place the outer fabric and lining fabric right sides together and sew together all the way around. Leave a turning opening at the bottom of the lining fabric. Cut off the excess zipper.
The turning maneuver follows:
Now just close the turning opening and shape and iron the bag.
Attach a key ring and carabiner to the chimney and perhaps a tag with the name of the recipient.
That's it!
