DIY Patchwork Jeans Clutch

DIY Patchwork Jeans Clutch

I have a lot of old jeans. And I would feel so guilty if I throw it away. There are so many possibilities.
This is my new jeans project, and I have to admit that it is quite time consuming, but I believe that it’s worth it!  Patchwork jeans clutch!

  1.  I made 30 squares 8 x 8 cm (that’s about 3,6 x 3,6 inches)
  2. First I made a plan how to organize pattern.
  3. Then I sewed squares in stripes of 5 squares.
  4. After that I sewed those stripes for each other (I tried to make all corners match)
  5. That’s how I got two sides of a bag.
  6. I sewed it all together.
  7. I made lining with measures of finished patchwork.

This is how it should look on the back side.

8. Sewing lining and patchwork is one complicated step. Well, look at the photo. You have to sew it “upside down”. You know, face of both fabrics should “look at each other”.
9. You have to leave small gap.
10. Through that gap you should pull all inside out.
11. Then you can put lining on write place (in the bag). And sew it all around the edge. In this way, you’re going to close that gap, and you’ll have more solid look.

12. Well, I didn’t have zipper in my stash, so I used Velcro strips. It’s not so professional, but I’m ok with it.
