Simple DIY Giant Dice. How to Make Dice using milk cartons and old jeans. Free Tutorial.

Today, I tried making dice using milk cartons and jeans.
I thought I’d try learning numbers while having fun playing with my second child, who is studying numbers at daycare.

It’s also great for various games using dice! It’s sturdy enough for elementary school students to sit on. Since you can make them in various sizes, I think they can be used in many different ways.

I used a sewing machine to make them quickly, but you can definitely make them by hand sewing!

It’s a versatile jeans dice that recycles both milk cartons and jeans, and can be used as a cool educational tool, a toy, or even a chair, haha.

I cut out the numbers using felt and appliquéd them. You can also use fabric!

 I used four 14cm * 14cm milk cartons. 

 How to make milk carton dice by upcycling jeans

Prepare 4 1000ml milk cartons.

Since the bottom is 7 * 7 cm in size, mark the point 14 cm from the top.

Cut from the top to the marked point.

Please crumple up some newspaper and put it in. About 4 to 5 sheets of small newspapers fit in.

Fold the top side to cover it.

Attach it firmly with transparent tape.

Complete 4 of them using the same method.

Assemble them securely and glue them together.

Now, prepare the jeans you don't wear anymore.

Cut it to fit the size of the dice. I cut starting from the bottom of the pant leg.

Cut off the thickly sewn edges on both sides of the jeans, and cut it to a size of 15 x 15 cm. Then, draw a rectangle approximately 14.2 x 14.2 cm.

I cut out the numbers using felt and sewed them in a zigzag pattern on the center using a sewing machine to create an appliqué. You can also just do it by hand sewing.

Sew two pieces together.

Sew all 6 pieces together.

Leave one part out and sew it together again.

Cut the four corners diagonally.

Flip it over!

Insert the milk carton dice you made.

Fold the seam allowance inward and finish with a whip stitch.

Here are the finished dice made from recycled jeans and milk cartons! They are really sturdy and great. ^^ After coming home from daycare, my child played throwing them, and now they are sitting on the dice watching TV. Try making educational tools and toys for kids using old jeans!
